I think most of us have a pretty good idea about what an electric windmill is and what it is used for both at home and commercially. They truly are a great green energy provider and they are massively popular.

Electric Windmill

I am a big believer in the electric windmill and I have to confess that they one of my favoured choices for home energy.

However, let me ask you this….

Do you know how an electric windmill actually turns wind energy into electricity?

This might appear to be a strange question but it is important you understand this if you are a serious do-it-yourself home energy enthusiast who is looking to build your own windmill generator.

So, let me explain…..

The energy produced by windmill power will always depend on wind speed. If the wind speed doubles, this will result in approximately 6 times more power. If the wind speed triples, then this will result in approximately 24 times more power.

With me so far……

For your electric windmill to run efficiently, it is preferable for wind speeds to be about 3-4 m/s. Of course, the more wind the more your electric windmill will generate power but please do not be mislead by claims you have to live in a windy area to benefit.

What about blade length?

Basically, the greater length blades you use for your windmill, the more power you will generate. If you double your blade length, you will increase generated power by about 4 times. Triple it and generated power will increase by about 9 times!

Important – You should always take this information into account during the build process of your windmill generator. They will help you calculate the best options for you and help you to gain maximum energy benefits from the wind.

A permanent magnet generator can sound rather complicated yet intriguing – do you know what it is? Well, actually I can tell you that it is not quite as complicated as it sounds. It’s much simpler than you would think!!

Let me tell you this:

Magnets produce magnetic power – everyone knows that much right? The fact that you can stick a magnet to your refrigerator will tell you that there is energy within a magnet. Well, the result is that we can use this magnetic energy to create electricity at home with a permanent magnet generator.

This type of ingenious yet simplistic technology for home energy has a number of great benefits and I would like to share these with you right here.

So what will these benefits be….

The biggest saving will for certain be your electric bill. It’s easy to slash your bills by half or more and in certain circumstances; you could even eliminate your electric bills completely. Here, you have a fantastic opportunity to move away from the over inflated electric prices and generate your own free power at home.

Another tremendous benefit is that a permanent magnet generator is very easy and safe to build. I initially feared the creation of electricity was a complex and technical task and I could understand it if you think this too. However, do not worry yourself – it really is quite simple and safe to do.

A permanent magnet generator is also self sufficient. That is to say that it requires no external power source to operate itself on. This means that it runs on its own energy and therefore doesn’t rely on anything to power it!

Remember – you could literally slash your electric bills in half or even totally eliminate them saving you hundreds year after year!

The electric generator system is the ultimate all in one package, consisting of simple, detailed and easy to follow plans, which allows absolutely anyone to construct their own Magnetic Electric Generator. These generators can be easily and quickly built by anyone regardless of DIY skills and it is actually possible to have a small generator built within 2 hours of starting the project.

The really great bonus to building a is that it can be built and ready to go for a cost of less than $135. This size generator would be more than capable of powering nearly 50% of your home so you do the math – that means cutting your electric bills in half!!.

All you would have to do is simply build an additional unit or just build one single bigger unit, and you can wave goodbye to your electric bill completely – nice!

You need  no specialized tools to build your own Magnetic Energy Generator. If you own a basic toolkit which includes a couple of screwdrivers then you have everything you will need to get started right away. Most importantly, all of the required parts to build your magnetic generator are all readily available from any hardware store.

A Magnetic Energy Generator does have some minor advantages over the use of other alternative energy sources such as wind or solar power although these should never be overlooked. The biggest advantage is that magnetic energy does not rely on weather conditions so who cares if it’s not sunny today!

You may have considered at some stage exactly how much precisely do solar panels cost? Well, as many of us know, initially they can be extremely expensive.

Roof Solar Panels

A great deal of very specialized materials and engineering are involved in the manufacturing process of individual solar cells. This in simple terms means production costs are expensive which in turn leads to higher prices for us.

What is worse for us is that because of the recent surge in interest in the alternative home energy market, a bigger demand for solar technology has also pushed prices upwards.

Therefore, if you already have a home energy budget or you are looking to plan a budget, the requirement to know how much solar panels will cost you is an important one.

However, believe it or not, solar power is not yet as widely used as it probably should be. This means that for the time being at least, professionally built and installed solar panels are still extremely expensive.

So how much does an individual solar panel cost?

A solar panel which would be capable of producing approximately 5 amps current would cost roughly $350.

However, there’s worse to come. In addition to the cost of the panel, you would require a full harnessing setup which would have to include items such as regulators, meters and brackets. This could easily cost a further $200.

Total cost for a single 5 amp unit would be approximately $500!

Here’s the good news…

Recent innovations by a select group of home DIY energy enthusiasts have led to a number of high quality do-it-yourself guides and systems entering the market. These guides describe in intricate detail, how you can easily build your own single, stand alone electric system using solar electricity panels for under $200.

So, if you follow the commercial route and enlist the help of professionals, you will be probably be paying anything in the region of $25,000 – $40,000 dollars for your household. Compare that to approximately $2000 – $3000 if you wish to supply your own home by going down the do-it-yourself route!

We all know that the damaging effect caused by the burning of fossil fuels is not a long term answer to providing us with a sustainable energy source.

A Home Windmill

There are a number of credible alternative green energy alternatives for home electricity that most of us are aware of. One of those is of course, the wind. There’s no better alternative than harnessing the natural power of wind to generate electricity for our homes.

So, how do we use the wind to generate power?

By simply building a home windmill to convert the energy from the wind into electricity!

This is very easy to do – in fact, you will probably be pleasantly suprised how easy this actually is. Costs are minimal and most of what you will need is available from any good local hardware store.

This technology will still work regardless of your location in the world!!

What supplies will be required?

Well, here are some of the basic supplies which you will need when building a windmill:

• Metal tubing for the frame of the windmill

• Sheet metal

• 1 X 48 volt battery. Most car batteries are very well suited for home windmills.

• Electrical wiring

• A high quality build guide.

Building a windmill is a very rewarding and enjoyable project and keep in mind the money you will be saving on your utility bill. Many people successfully manage to save anything upto 80% on their electric bill every month!

Also, never overlook the environmental impact that traditional electricity producing methods have on the planet. At least you can be safe in the knowledge that you have at least made the effort and are doing your bit to help!
